The theme of Achmea Australia’s 2018 National Conference was Spring Harvest and we reaffirmed our commitment to keeping farmers farming – both in good times, and during adversity and change.
At the Conference, we were incredibly fortunate to hear from Sam and Jenny Bailey, authors of best-selling novel, Head Over Heels.
At the age of 19, Sam suffered a spinal injury as a result of a car accident, leaving him quadriplegic.
We were honoured to hear Sam’s inspirational story about how he beat the odds to fulfil his dreams and become a farmer following the accident, the flow-on effects of our decisions and the importance of focussing on what we have, rather than what we haven’t got.
Sam’s next big goal is to become the first quadriplegic in the world to fly a helicopter. Sam wants to fly to schools, land on their ovals and show children all over Australia that anything is possible.
