Achmea Australia has appointed Emma Thomas as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Achmea Australia is excited to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, Emma Thomas. This announcement comes after the news that current CEO Timo van Voorden is returning to the Netherlands.
Emma brings to the role a wealth of knowledge stemming from many years of experience working in the agricultural insurance industry and financial services.
Most recently, Emma has held positions at FMG, including National Sales Manager, Head of Sales, Service and Operations, Head of Advice and Sales and Financial Controller. During her time at FMG Emma was central to driving the overall growth, client satisfaction and market share strategies for the company, New Zealand’s leading rural insurer.
Prior to joining FMG, Emma held an executive financial management role with a New Zealand IT solutions company, and audit roles with Deloitte in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.
Emma is committed to continuous development of her leadership and governance skills, through cultivating valuable networks within the primary industries sector.
The Achmea Australia team would also like to thank Timo for all the work he has done over the past five years. Timo has been instrumental in setting up the Australian division, working tirelessly to carve a niche for the organisation in mutual-based insurance and risk management for the farming community.
We wish Emma the best of luck in her new role and are looking forward to accelerating the growth of Achmea in Australia.
A message from Emma Thomas, CEO of Achmea Australia.
