Today, GrainGrowers announced a new strategic collaboration with specialist farm insurer, Achmea Australia. With a focus on industry collaboration and sustainability, this strategic collaboration will look to encourage and support one of Australia’s largest agricultural sectors to feed the world and help achieve the sector’s ambition to reach $100 billion of farm gate value by 2030.
Working together, GrainGrowers and Achmea Australia aim to provide a platform for the grains industry to share knowledge, risk mitigation strategies and best practices to tackle shared challenges together.
With both organisations dedicated to future-proofing the grains industry and building stronger communities, the new strategic collaboration includes flagship events for 2022 such as:
- International Women’s Day luncheon on 8 March 2022 in Wagga Wagga to help celebrate and recognise the achievements of women across the grains sector.
- Dedicated risk management sessions at the 2022 Innovation Generation Conference for young farmers and agribusiness professionals which will be held in Sydney from 18 to 20 July 2022.
“The GrainGrowers team is delighted to work alongside Achmea Australia to support growers across a range of aspects, including risk management, climate variability and sustainability. Achmea Australia’s co-operative values and commitment to live sustainably together makes the farm insurer a great fit for GrainGrowers to support our progressive and profit-focused growers in producing world-recognised safe and nutritious grains,” said David McKeon, GrainGrowers CEO.
“This ethos of collaboration and sustainability is at the core of this new strategic agreement. The agricultural industry is stronger together, and Achmea Australia is looking forward to working collaboratively with the grains industry so that we can support its future sustainable growth and feed a growing global population,” said Emma Thomas, Achmea Australia CEO.
“With this new strategic collaboration, Achmea Australia will advance its purpose of keeping farmers farming, while protecting and enhancing agricultural communities through creating new opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other.”
