Raised on the land, our Adelaide-based Achmea Farm Insurance Specialist Caroline Falkiner has a personal connection to farming and extensive experience supporting the financial needs of local farmers.
“I grew up on farms – cropping, sheep and cattle – in NSW and later Tasmania, with both parents hailing from farming families,” Caroline said.
“I spent the last 15 years working for a major bank as a regional and agribusiness banker; the last 10 years in South Australia and previous five in Tasmania.
“What drew me to the role of Farm Insurance Specialist with Achmea Australia is the way in which we can add value to the client’s experience. By understanding their agribusiness and the associated risks, we help clients so that they can tailor our All-in-One Farm Pack to make it uniquely suited to their farm.”
Through Achmea Australia’s on-farm approach to insurance, Caroline said she enjoys working with farmers to help them review their farm insurance so that they can keep their policy up to date and adequate for their needs.
“The on-farm visits provided by Achmea Australia help to form a strategic relationship with clients,” Caroline said. “Through these strong relationships, and by understanding our clients’ businesses and the issues impacting the industry, such as weather, commodity prices and government regulations, I can better support clients with their insurance needs.”

As well as supporting her local farming community, Caroline is passionate about important causes. She has volunteered the past few years for the Birdsville Races, a fundraising event which aids the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS).
