Jessica Dawson brings a unique blend of agricultural experience, operations management, and customer relationship management to her role as a Farm Insurance Specialist in South East Queensland.
With a career spanning over a decade within the agricultural sector, Jessica has honed her skills in understanding the needs of farmers and the challenges they face in protecting their livelihoods. Her hands-on experience working directly with farmers, agronomists, and industry specialists across the Western Downs region has provided her with invaluable insights into local opportunities and challenges.
Returning to her roots in agriculture, Jessica draws from her background growing up on a mixed cereals and sheep grazing property in Northern NSW. Her family’s continued farming legacy spanning over 120 years has instilled in her a deep appreciation and passion for the local farming community.
“Here in the Western Downs, we’ve got a bit of everything when it comes to farming. You’ll find fields of wheat, barley, sorghum, and chickpeas alongside vast cotton paddocks. Further out, we have large cattle and sheep operations. Farming is the heart of the communities out here and shapes our economy and livelihoods,” she said.
Jessica’s approach to farm insurance includes making meaningful connections with clients, focusing on good conversations, and asking questions to understand their specific needs.
“Getting out on farm and having that direct connection with clients – it’s the best part of the job,” said Jessica.
Jessica is also actively involved in her local community, as a committee member of the Dalby Race Club, a passionate supporter of the local Rugby club, and a dedicated volunteer for many local events.
