Having been involved in agriculture his whole life, Colin’s vast knowledge and passion for the industry are great assets in his role as Farm Insurance Specialist.
Colin grew up in Upper Coopers Creek, about 40km north of Lismore on his family farm, where he was actively involved in the beef cattle operation and banana plantation, with the addition of various small crops.
The family diversified into macadamias and after high school, Colin worked on a macadamia plantation full-time before becoming the farm manager four years later.
A qualified agronomist, Colin’s career journey prior to joining Achmea included roles with Eco Growth International and Norco Rural.
“I have always had a love for the land and farming is my passion,” Colin said.
“I think that’s why I feel so strongly about the importance of insurance to the farming community, I know first-hand what peace of mind it offers if things go wrong. Having the assurance that you can continue farming in the face of a claim is quite powerful.”
Colin and his wife currently run a Limousin cattle stud on his wife’s family farm near Lismore, New South Wales.
